This iconic Rossmoor home has always stood out due to its Mid-Century Modern design and the large corner lot it resides on. Situated on the corner of Rossmoor Way and Weatherby Road, this was one of the original “Model homes” built by Ross Cortese, the creator and famous home builder who produced the community of Rossmoor. The Starlite model was “modern” in its design and concept in 1957, offering perimeter forced air heating, Van Luit hand painted wallpaper which could be customized to fit your color scheme, floor to ceiling windows, and all electric kitchen. While this floor plan was not wildly popular at the time Rossmoor was built, it has now become instantly recognizable as a “Mid-Century Modern” classic, with enormous demand here in Southern California. This particular home was purchased by a lovely young couple in 1957, who called 3391 Rossmoor Way their home for over 68 years. They took excellent care of the home, and honored its original design with each improvement they made. The furnace was replaced approx. 2 years ago, and in keeping with the design of the home, and the original “perimeter forced air heating” structure, the new furnace also heats the home utilizing the vents situated at the perimeter of each room.
